Hiya Beauties ❤
If you read my last blog you might know that yesterday I was working on my first project as a freelance makeup artist 🙂 Sandra María and I went to a bridal photoshoot, that was for the short film we are the makeup artists for, So I started by going to MOOD to my only SPFX class and had permission to leave earlier, I think most of the girls left once they tried the latex and fake blood anyways. Today I have a collective haul, I have wanted to show you these the whole weekend some things I did buy over a month ago and I have used them for review purposes.
Dirty Works – Farmasía
My local pharmacy (Farmasía) had a 3 for 2 offer on these products, I really wanted to try them because they are super cheap and look soo cute, they have that 50’s feel to them and I just absolutely love the packaging. The products are also not tested on animals so thats a huge plus for many people out there. I got three products, The Big Chillout Bath Soak, Shea You Care Body Butter and That Fiji Feeling Coconut Body wash.
The Big Chillout Bath Soak
First off I got this very cute Bubble bath/Bath soak, It does froth up so I call it a bubble bath haha, but it does have other qualities to it, like the vitamin e and all the fruit and herb extracts, mmm it smells delicious, a mix of lavender and chamomile. The packaging says;
“Unwind and chill out with this intensely RELAXING Bath Soak, expertly formulated with a luxorious essential oil blend of mandarin and rock rose for indulgent bath-time pampering. Calming Chamomile and Lavender extract help induce sleep and relax muscles whilst anti-oxidant-rich Vitamin E and softening Shea extract leave your skin feeling softer, your body comforted and your mind mellow.” I do think it does all the things it promises, I feel really relaxed after a bath and my skin is softer than silk! I love this thing, do recommend!
That Fiji Feeling Coconut Body Wash
The Coconut body was is soo amazing! the scent is of
coconut and it reminds you of having a cocktail in your hand during holiday, I use an exfoliating glove x2 a week with this and it just makes me smell amazing and it doesn’t feel too drying like many other body washes make me feel, i don’t really know how to ecplain it further so Im just going to add the description in here as well 🙂 “Pamper your skin and your senses with this richly indulgent body wash. A luxurious blend of nourishing Coconut Oil combined with hydrating Passionfruit extract and moisture-rich Allantoin to leave skin soft and smooth.”
Shea You Care Body Butter
I also got the body butter from Dirty Works, It doesn’t have a cool description like the others I got but it is a Shea Body butter with cocoa butter and macadamia oil, its a very thick consistency but once spread out it seeps quite quickly in to the skin, the scent is fresh, like when you go to a flower garden, but it also has that strong perfume scent, its a little to overpowering for my taste but it doesn’t linger on too long. Once the butter has melted in to your skin, you feel so fresh and smooth it is ridiculous.
Embryolisse – Nola
I’ve wanted to try these products for a while, its been a big hit with makeup artists here in Iceland and in the world really, I needed some creams for my makeup kit and I was focusing on buying things that would make my short film project easier. I also got 2 testers from the girls at Nola, I think it is a moisture spray, I havent tried it yet but I will 🙂
This has been described as a 24-Hour Miracle Cream and a must have product for makeup
artists, models and celebrities. Its found its way onto thousands of photo shoots and television sets. This cream is also three products in one: primer, moisturizer, and make-up remover, although I don’t know how to use it as a makeup remover Im so interested in this use of the product! Its formula is packed with nourishing ingredients that restore the skin’s natural glow and gives a boost to tired dehydrated skin.
I got the Hydra-Mat Emulsion cream as well because I want to use the same cream for different skin types, its not good to get a client who has oily skin and use a oily product, then their makeup would just melt off them in an hour! This cream is almost the same as the other one but this one ensures optimal moisturizing and a long lasting matt effect. It absorbs excessive sebum and reduces shininess also the skin is toned with Apricot Oil. ‘ve got a good feeling about this one 🙂
MAC – Kringlan
Now to my favourite of the bunch, I’ve been wanting to get some more MAC stuff for my kit since I started MOOD, but I’m always a little too poor to get stuff from there haha but since I needed more stuff for my first project I went and spent some serious moolah!
This is a moisturiser that boosts the look of dull skin and luminizes with iridescent
particles. It leaves the skin shimmery and glowy, once you put foundation on top it is diffused but you can still see some shimmer through, it is sooo pretty! so I had to have it! Strobe Cream is Super powered with potent botanicals that de-snoozes, de-stresses, moistens, freshens and boosts the look of dull, flat or tired-looking skin with a fully loaded vitamin zap and a mega dose of green tea. It also brightens and clarifies with iridescent particles and antioxidants. Enhances the effects of light on all skin and in all lighting conditions from sunlight to spotlight. So yes this cream is the BOMB if you like glowy skin! ❤
Prep+Prime Lip Base
This is a must have for any makeup artist when you get clients who have uneven lips, lips with lines or when you want the lipstick to stay on all day like for a bride. It is a colour-free lipstick base that adds light moisture, smoothes and refines, it’s designed for wearing under lipstick to reduce feathering while providing long-term hydration, smoothing and refining the lips. It also improves the overall appearance of your lip products.
Face & Body- C1 & N1
I needed a good foundation for TV makeup and for lightweight makeup, the Face and Body foundation is perfect for that, it is a lightweight foundation that delivers a natural satin finish and sheer coverage, it is a comfortable fluid foundation with a unique blend of emollients that delivers low-to-medium buildable coverage. The moisturizing long-wearing formula glides onto your face and body, providing stay-true color.
Mineralize Blush – Warm Soul
I think Þóra talked about this blush once during class, and all of us girls loved it, so of course on the MAC website it says; A blush that builds lightly, layer after layer, without heavy coverage. It’s a medium, peachy-orange with hints of beige and soft, gold shimmer. Its just very very pretty ❤
That is it for today! I hope you liked it, If you have tried any of these products let me know what your thoughts of them are ❤
