Lipstick Collection&Swatches

Hello again…

I hope you’ve had a lovely day! I figured out how I’d like to do my blog, I want to blog atleast x2 a week, and I was thinking about having “due dates” on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I might do a few extra blogs on Saturdays aswell, only if I feel like it though. My last post was just an introduction to myself and my blog, today I wanted to do something makeup related and have it as simple as possible. I’ve been obsessed with lipsticks for a few months now and have managed to get myself a little collection of highstreet(cheap) lipsticks. This post could get a bit long but bear with me!

#1. Ingrid Cosmetics- 299

Pros:

  • Insanely cheap(£2.50).
  • Lovely colour.
  • Nice semi matte finish.
  • A little goes a long way.

Cons:

  • Bad formula.
  • Forms weird bumps and dirt like appearance on product after use.
  • Feels stiff while you apply.

I have a love/hate relationship with this lipstick, I absolutely love the nude peach colour, yes I am a fan of this pale lip look! I admit it! It is extremely pale and I love it! But the formula is just bad, no wonder for the price huh? The consistency of the product feels to me like an old, gone off lipstick and I hate it! I don’t think I will try other lipsticks from this company but I might try other Items they have.

#2. Maxfactor- Flushed Fuchsia

Pros:

  • Cheap (£10.30).
  • Beautiful colour and finish.
  • Packaging is stylish.
  • Feels smooth while applying
  • Buildable coverage

Cons:

  • Leaves lips feeling dry moments after applying.
  • Lasts for 2 hours.
  • You pay for the packaging not the product.

Flushed Fuchsia is a light pink colour, with golden shimmer particles, it is very similar to rose gold jewelry amd I love that! It is absolutely gorgeous to wear and looks good with almost any type of makeup. I like how it feels while I apply it to my lips, it is a smooth consistency but not creamy. This product has two big flaws about it, one being how dry your lips feel only minutes after applying it, number two being the fact that you are buying the packaging(which is gorgeous) but not the product. If MaxFactor had spent more money on the product and less on the look of it It would be a much better product.

#3. Maxfactor- Firefly

Pros:

  • Cheap (£10.30).
  • Beautiful colour.
  • Glossy finish.
  • Packaging is stylish.
  • Feels smooth while applying.
  • Buildable coverage.

Cons:

  • Leaves lips feeling dry moments after applying.
  • Lasts for 2 hours.
  • You pay for the packaging not the product.
  • Advertisements are misleading.

Firefly is a dark brown colour with purple tones in it. I find the biggest con about this product being the advertisements, I bought this colour online, thinking it was more purple than it accually is so when I got it delivered I was sure that I had been sent the wrong colour….NOPE, almost every ad picture I see of it looks more purple than brown. I was disappointed but now I accually really like this colour! I wear it often when I want to look more mature.

#4. Maxfactor- Mulberry

Pros:

  • Cheap (£10.30).
  • Beautiful colour.
  • Glossy finish.
  • Packaging is stylish.
  • Feels smooth while applying.
  • Buildable coverage.

Cons:

  • Leaves lips feeling dry moments after applying.
  • Lasts for 2 hours.
  • You pay for the packaging not the product.
  • Advertisements are misleading.

Mulberry is a dark red-brown colour, its very vampire like. I was so happy when I got it! The colour is amazing, but the consistency of the MaxFactor lipsticks bothers me! it feels creamy and smooth to put on but after a few minutes you are running around town looking for lipbalm! I accually like this colour so much that I take the dryness that comes with it!

#5. Maxfactor- Ruby Tuesday

Pros:

  • Cheap (£10.30).
  • Colour is beautiful.

It was christmas I wanted a red lipstick so I rushed into the shop and picked up the cheapest red lipstick I could find, I love this lipstick its a fiery red colour, with a glossy finish, perfect for the classy red lip with winged liner look, the colour is so gorgeous that you cant be bothered feeling the dryness that I have rambled on and on about this whole post! Just whack a bit more on and you feel like the sexy lady you are!

#6. Maybelline- Midnight Plum

Pros:

  • Cheap-ish
  • Stunning colour.
  • Glossy finish.
  • Packaging is stylish.
  • Feels smooth while applying.
  • You get what you pay for.

Cons:

  • Need many coats for a dramatic colour.
  • Less shimmer than you expect.
  • Doesn’t last as long as other Maybelline Lipsticks.

This colour is amazing! it is a dark purple with a little bit of shimmer. I think it is safe to describe it as a gloomy colour but oh my god it is a good gloomy colour! The only cons I can find is how sheer it applies to your lips and how little glitter is in the product when the package shows insane amount of glitter, you will need at least 3 coats for the dark look(I need to PILE it on for my kind of colour). Other than that it is a lovely product, it feels smooth and glossy when applied and it definitely does not make your lips feel dry after a few minutes!

#7. Maybelline- Lady Red

Pros:

  • Cheap-ish
  • Striking colour.
  • Lasts long.
  • Creamy finish.
  • Packaging is stylish.
  • Feels gorgeous while applying.
  • You get what you pay for.

Cons:

  • I can’t find any.

Oh my, my yes this is my favourite! Lady Red is a much richer and colder shade than MaxFactors Ruby tuesday. This colour is my favourite of the two because of the consistency, it is wonderful to work with and feel amazing on your lips, you just cant get enough of it. There is a reason why my Maybellines are used more than the Maxfactor ones, they are clearly a better formula and I can hardly find any cons about Maybelline Lipsticks.

#8. Maybelline- Electric Orange

Pros:

  • Cheap-ish
  • Vivid colour.
  • Lasts long
  • Creamy finish.
  • Packaging is pretty.
  • Feels smooth while applying.
  • You get what you pay for.

Cons

  • Very flamboyant! and screams for attention (could be a pro aswell)

I got this lipstick as a gift for my birthday, so I have only had it for 5 days and only wore it 2 times, it is a bright warm toned orange and it is gorgeous, I still havent found a look that this colour could go with so I have only tried it on but not fully worn it for a whole day.

#9. Maybelline- Hot Plum

Pros:

  • Cheap-ish
  • Creat coverage.
  • Beautiful colour.
  • Lasts long
  • Creamy finish.
  • Packaging is pretty.
  • Feels smooth while applying.
  • You get what you pay for.

Cons

  • Couldn’t find any.

This is the very first lipstick I ever got, It was bought for me as a gift and I am In love with it! it is a Magenta colour (Violet-red/pink) and It suits so many of my looks that It is the most used lipstick in my collection! I will most certainly purchase this item again!

#10. Maybelline- Pink Pop

Pros:

  • Cheap-ish
  • Opaque.
  • Creamy finish.
  • Packaging is pretty.
  • Feels smooth while applying.
  • You get what you pay for.

Cons

  • Wears off quicker than my other Maybellines.

Yes girls! this is the one! I absolutely love this colour, it is a loud pink colour that just screams FIERCE and I cannot get enough of it! it is absolutely gorgeous on the lips and feels fabulous! it does have a little con but it does not bother me that much.

#11. Maybelline- Kiss Pearl

Pros:

  • Cheap-ish
  • Lasts long
  • Frosty finish.
  • Packaging is pretty.
  • Feels smooth while applying.
  • You get what you pay for.

Cons

  • Sheer colour, you will need a few coats for a opaque finish.

Such a sweet colour, it is baby pink with loads of glitter in it, the finish is quite frosty but it looks so wonderful, it is my second favourite lipstick and I will love it to the end of the world and back!

And here we go! This is my whole lipstick collection so far, and the conclusion is that Maybelline is in fact the champion of these 3 brands, MaxFactor will do If you are desperate and don’t have much money.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you will be back again soon 🙂

Lots of love…
